You may have heard of the Maine Student Book Award. Now we big kids have a Maine book award of our own: the Maine Readers’ Choice Award. Officially established in 2013 by the Maine State Library and the Maine Library Association, the award recognizes the best in adult fiction published in the United States the previous year. This year’s finalists are: A Land More Kind Than Home by Wiley Cash, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Read this summer, choose your favorite book, and then vote September 1-15 online or at the library. Find out more about the books and the award here, or pick up a bookmark at the library.
