Falmouth Memorial Library welcomes Maine businessman and author Derek Volk, who will discuss his poignant memoir Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum, co-written with his twenty-six-year-old son, Dylan, who has Asperger’s syndrome. This internationally acclaimed book details the Volk family’s frustration before Dylan’s diagnosis at the age of eight and offers an honest account of the experiences raising a son with Asperger’s, a developmental disorder that most notably affects socialization with others. Stories in Chasing the Rabbit range from Dylan’s early days to the specific behavioral challenges of his adolescent years to life in the “real world” as he transitioned to a young adult. Copies of Chasing the Rabbit will be available for sale and signing by the author. FMI: Jeannie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 781-2351.
