To our valued library users,
As you are aware, the Library has been planning for a long-needed expansion and renovation. Over the coming weeks, we are moving forward with our plans to move to a temporary location during the construction period.
Beginning Monday, February 25 the Library will be closed to the public so that the detailed process of packing our collection for storage and our temporary location can begin. All Falmouth Memorial Library items borrowed beginning Friday, January 25 will have a final return date of Friday, February 22, 2019.
Falmouth Memorial Library patrons may continue to place holds on items from other libraries. Beginning February 25, these interlibrary loaned materials will be available for pick up only during our temporary service hours. In order that we may continue to offer some of our more heavily-used services, the Russell Room will be open for children’s programs and interlibrary loan pickup on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. A schedule of story times and art programs will be provided soon. The last day for interlibrary loan pick-ups at our current 5 Lunt Road location is Saturday, March 9.
To access these temporary library services please use the Russell Room Entrance. The front entrance will be closed and our current collection will be unavailable for loan.
Library Temporary Closure:
The Library will be closed to all programs and interlibrary loan service during the week of March 11 when our collection is moved off site.
We anticipate opening in our temporary Mason-Mota location no later than April 1 when we will resume library programs and services, including access to part of our collection and interlibrary loan.
While this all may sound complicated, we will do our best to continue to help you get the library items you need in a timely manner.
We thank you for your cooperation during this time of transition.
Sincerely,
Andi Jackson-Darling
Library Director
