Felting Workshop: Gnomes
Join us to make an adorable felted gnome! The workshop will be led by local artist, Kathleen Gerdes.
Felting with wool is a very old art form, dating back thousands of years and fortunately, it is being revived by modern day fiber artists. Today’s craft includes dry felting with the use of a special needle and wet felting with only soap and water. In this presentation, you will learn about both techniques, the tools used by a felter and what materials are best for various projects. You will also learn to make a very simple needle felted project that you can take with you.
Kathleen Gerdes, an art instructor who lives in Falmouth, teaches various art at many venues. She is currently teaching a watercolor class for the town of Falmouth and classes for felting and watercolor for the town of Scarborough.
